I have been re-writing Chapter VII of my forthcoming book and I was reminded that people, no matter how young or old, will always know something I don’t.
I can always learn something from other people simply by having a receptive attitude.
By this I mean listening. Life isn’t as simple as I think it is…
Even a child WILL know things I don’t and you will shortly be able to read about the three-year-old expert in The Logic Of Attraction
I think life probably works this way because life isn’t really a journey. There is no beginning or set path to follow. We aren’t really “going” anywhere unless we say we are. The only sure thing is that some point we will wind up dead.
Scientists may be pushing the curve on immortality, but at present the reality is we are going to die. What happens after that is anyone’s guess.
World religion is a mish mash of different theories about heaven and re-incarnation. Science on the other hand says once the machine is off, it is off. When electrical activity ceases in the brain we are dead.
At some point in life we are all invited to see what happens to us when we die and my personal view point is, it is unlikely I will be able to communicate back from wherever I end up.
Imagine several thousand people reading this blog as part of their journey through life.
It is unlikely they will all read the first post in this series, and will more likely start by reading the last they encounter.
They will all learn about different aspects of life at different times and each have a different piece of the puzzle. If you were to talk to any of them about life or this blog, each would have a different view point, perhaps a different piece of information to give to you?
With that in mind, imagine the child standing in front of you having the very piece of information you need to move forward in life. Or the teenager, old person, black person, brown person, white person, working class person, snooty cow, rich bitch – whatever your prejudice.
Make an effort to listen. Given the way evolution works, communication is of vital importance.
Everyone is starting in a different place and going in a different direction. People may not know the things you know, they probably have something else to tell or teach you. Swap information…
Trying to work the ‘law of attraction’ – someone might even know how you can get your new car, house, relationship – even if they don’t look like they have a clue!
Get out there and try it!
I invite you to take this idea into YOUR World and have fun with it…
I welcome comments and look forward to hearing about your experiences…
See you on the other side of the looking glass,

Very inspiring post. I too believe that we can take a encounter with another (even for a few moments) and if anything, find inspiration for the moment. Children are so strong with this, because they can put simplistic seeds, in our complex adult gardens. There is nothing more beautiful or powerful then that moment when you look into the eyes of s child and know they brought you back on track. Thank you for the inspiration today in your blog.
