I am on a path of discovery and as I start to write my book on enlightenment, I realise as a race of beings, we have an agreement with our gurus which totally negates our experience.

We also negate the gurus experience (for them).

Enlightenment, as far as I can tell, only exists in agreement, or language.

Agreements about reality, the way things are – languaging experience, negates experience.

Each judgement or comparison, every assessment, each lesson about what enlightenment is and what it is not takes the seeker further from the truth.

So can I teach you the truth?

What stands between me, you and the truth is language.

For me to express my experience, I need to language it while being an example of that which I wish to express.

My “style” of communication is “I am brilliant and I am going to prove it to you”. And “question me and I will defend my position”.

My commitment is to give up this way of being with you.

The knowledge I wish to impart to you is, you have already had an experience that humans have an agreement in language for called enlightenment.

Listening to the directions of spiritual teachers won’t help you, or them.

Don’t listen to me either. My expression of enlightenment will negate your experience of it such that you could follow me forever trying to find an answer.

The only thing between me and your wallet is my integrity.

It is not really social networking in the same sense as FaceBook is it?

And I have an opinion about why Twitter works.

As a long term Internet user (since CIX back in 1990) I am going to make a simple observation about a few trends.

I have used AOL and MSN style messengers to communicate with my friends and acquaintances for a long time.

I also use SMS to communicate on my phone, where speaking might not be appropriate.

It has become second nature to send and recieve messages in both the above ways.

Twitter follows a similar format to SMS.

As most of my messenger based friends are on Twitter, I DM them instead of using messenger.

Half the time I forget and simply bang out an @ message.

And there in lies the rub.

It is easy to forget, Twitter is not a private messenger or SMS service.

It is easy to slip and divulge personal details about my life, once out there, I can be amused by my own candidity, or shamefully embarrassed.

If I choose to be amused, my ego tends to want to follow the same path to more amusement.

Tee hee, I just stuck my willy in the toaster!

In the not so distant past Jonathan Ross was having private conversations with his lovely wife Jane, which were fascinating to follow.

Why?

Because human beings, including me, by nature are intrinsically nosey.

Our curiosity drives us to follow people, just to find out what they are up to.

What makes them tick?

The simple truth!

So here I am driving in my car.
I get that my life is real, I am who I am, I live my truth.
But I also get, that my truth is just a story and I could play the circumstances of my life so many other ways.
Stuff happens, we link the in-between with a story line.
We are not free to act, we act to be free.

Story time…

I am a 46 year old adult male.
People constantly tell me, I can come across as overtly negative. About life, about myself, about others.
I also get that it is NOT part of my story.

I am by nature a problem solver and I also spot detail. If there is the tiniest problem in the smallest detail I will notice (and mention) it as a service to others.

Going to buy a used car?
I am the guy to take with you if you want to nail the salesman on the deal.
Thinking of starting up in business or getting into a relationship?
Or any other area where imperfection would be perfect?
Don’t run the idea by me

While I make negative statements about things, I don’t tend to dwell on them.
They are a driver for betterment.

The story I have currently chosen to run my life from one moment to the next actually turns out to be a very positive and optimistic one.

It goes like this.

I found out I have Asperger Syndrome a few years back and it makes light of my failures. I get to be kind to myself, accept myself a lot and say it is okay I couldn’t do X, or Z, or even Y.
I also have successes where any normal person would have failed, so what am I really missing out on?

I can be angry and frustrated about my past at times, which comes across as negative, yet is a driver to for the future.
I do determination well!

Does it serve me?

A mixed bag. If I strive to do this better, I can have that.

So what of the future?

Because I have successes where any normal person would have failed, I can play on my strengths.
One of my strengths is, I know I can succeed.

But, can I use Asperger Syndrome as my get out clause?

I could and rarely choose to.
I have Asperger Syndrome, so compared to others I am disabled; I only have limited value as a human being – I am doing my best, poor me.

What I realise is…

Poor me takes more energy and effort to sustain than “what’s possible?”

Part of the problem is, I was born into a society that said it has to be a certain way.
Flying in the face of the conventional (even when I think I am not) has never been easy.

My point being?

Roughly 1% of adults have been diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder, perhaps more?

They need a voice.

A voice with experience.

My story is, I am that guy.

What makes me special?

What makes me the spokesperson for Autism as opposed to the “WE ARE NOT DISABLED” activists who are FIGHTING their cause…

First and foremost, I know I am disabled.

I accept the limitations of having an autistic mindset, in fact some of them are darn right funny.
I accept I am not going to do well socially and even accept some things I say to some people might upset them.
I accept I get fixated on things and see solutions to problems in a very black or white way.
I might even forget to shave, or wash once in a while. I don’t like hairdressers, or dentists. I refuse to take medication and I have very fixed ideas (about a lot of things).
I may even frighten your children, or you – if I pay your kids too much attention, talk to them like they are adults, or find them more interesting than you!

I also accept a lot of the above can be dealt with for younger people with Asperger Syndrome by educating both them and the adults supporting them.
I am very open to the idea I can constantly update my own logical database of possible scenarios to improve my social relationships.
In otherwords I am not waging a war aganst normal people.

But what of the strengths?

Autism has a place in society.

For me, being overtly negative aboout it, is a driver to find a more positive aspect.

I am that guy.

Autism?

Strengths?

Mine?

My ability to write this, open your mind with words, make you think?

Yours?

We already know where that can lead!

I have a fun idea for plots for sci-fi novels.

I am rather hoping someone will write one.

The basic idea is to take a regular sci-fi plot and reverse it.

In sci-fi the story line often hinges on a central character who sees the truth (according to the plot) and who everyone thinks is mad.

They often believe in a conspiracy theory that defies others’ belief systems which later turns out to be true.

A classic example would be Sarah Connor in the Terminator series.

In my sci-fi story, the roles are reversed.

The main character believes in what we currently believe in, reality.

The entire cast of characters in the story believe in something else.

In my latest incarnation of this idea…

The main character thinks there is a system called time which we must adhere to.

Around him in common reality there is no time.

There is no past, present or future.

He is the ONE person with this idea.

And is believed to be mad.

Of course, they lock him up.

I am quite sure it would be very hard to write such a novel.

I am also certain it could be a very clever play on reality and the person who wrote it would be considered a ground breaking author if they could pull it off.

I had an amazing revelation this evening, I am free.

I can do what the hell I like and I will still be accepted.
I don’t have to struggle to fit in.
I actually have total freedom from all aspects of society by simple virtue of the fact I don’t quite fit in and have an explanation as to why.
It means I have the wild card in the pack, I can be anyone I want to be and more.
A golden ticket to be, do or have anything I want to.

This evening I remembered all the mad people I have known along the way.
The schizophrenics, the bi-polar, the damaged and derelict.
They all have something in common.
They all know who they are.

I am far from damaged or derelict, however I do have one massive advantage over most of humanity.
I am no longer seeking.
I know who I am.

I spent years trying to figure out where I fitted into the grand scheme of things.
Years failing at being something other than who I am now.
Years trying to graduate from a blatantly ridiculous education system.
Years trying to find friends, a job, a life.
I was a square peg in a round hole.

I am about a third of the way through my life now (I am 46).
And I am lucky enough to have figured all this out, so the next 92 years will be fruitful and fulfilling ones.
Simply put, I am now a square peg in a square hole.

Where I was bewildered by my inability to function socially I am now mildly amused by it.
I don’t care about social boundaries, I no longer find it upsetting that I don’t understand them.
Not having them is fun, great fun!

Okay, I might look uncomfortable at your function if I am too polite to tell you I am bored.
Within my own skin, I am perfectly happy.

Life has a funny way of turning out.
Apparently, awareness of self is an important turning point on the path to higher consciousness.
What I wonder is, if there is more about us the same than is different, how far apart we really are?

How do you tell when someone is lying?
And why do humans have a consistent need to lie to one another?
I allowed someone to lie to me yesterday and nodded my head politely just to see how far he would take it.

This person on the surface, is a very genuine looking and sounding bloke.
His eye contact is great and I only spotted one tell tale eye flutter, which may actually have been confusion over my refusing to engage with him over an electrical cable which we both know is potentially lethal.
Who am I talking about?
The builder!

If you have been following me on Twitter, you will know we just had some minor alterations carried out to the house we moved to.
Because of the builder’s continued promises and apologies, we have made decisions based on the information he has given us, which have literally turned our lives upside down.
Something about this person had me trust him. A part of me always believed what he said and I am still giving him benefit of doubt.
He actually does all the right things to appear trustworthy.
Perhaps at the moment he says it, he actually believes it himself?

I knew he was leaving yesterday never to return, when I made him a cup of tea in a mug with his business logo on it.
After loading all his tools onto his van (to get them out my way) and being reassured he was only loading the things he didn’t need for our job, he made motions to start work.
There was an atmosphere of adrenalin. I could almost feel the panic in the air.
He was making all the right noises, explaining how he would move the furniture around to do the floors and that the replacement bath was at the suppliers.
But he had arrived with a fifteen year old lad and not the Corgi registered plumber he had promised to bring with him, something was clearly wrong.
I sensed he needed to be somewhere else in a hurry.
He seemed late for another engagement and the circular saw seemed to be an important part of it.

He was taking great care to explain everything in way too much detail.
The game became such that he thought I didn’t know what he was doing – while I played along with him.
Why?
Because I think the relationship has passed the point where any genuine communication can take place.
Because I don’t think he is capable of finishing the work.
Because the fastest way to get my life back on track was to let him show his true colours.

I rather hoped he would step up to the mark and have a real conversation with me, arrive at a solution.
He decided to take the money and run.
He explained in rediculous detail that the roller he was about to paint my partner’s office with needed to be replaced and he was just popping out to buy another one.
He promised to return within an hour.
As he reversed down the drive, I looked for the mugs.
They were gone.

Given that we have paid nearly all the monies due for the work, what am I attracting?
Have I been mugged? Or taken for a mug?
You tell me!

In the past months, I have been contemplating my life’s purpose on this planet.

I have been barking at the moon, complaining at God and kicking the big D in the balls.

I am reminded life boils down to one simple concept, LOVE.

You either use it, or abuse it. Human beings, every one of us, do both…

Even when our intentions seem pure, when we look again, there is always a caveat we haven’t noticed in ourselves.

The simple act of being human means we will always have work to do. Anyone that says otherwise is a fu*king liar.

So who am I?

A musician?

While my autistic mind sees music in a very mathematical way and I am more suited to technical pursuits in the studio than standing on stage with a guitar staring at my feet, even under the wing of the kindest of rock star my beacon has no chance to really shine that brightly.

Does my name leap out at you from the tens of millions of CDs it has appeared on?

Probably not.

Okay if you were looking for Ty-Wharton, I’ll give you a hint.

My nickname is ‘Tinley’ A.K.A. Tinley, The Sampling Champion Of The Universe.

Now, if you check your 14th century dictionary (if you can find one) you will probably find out that the word ‘Tinley’ means religious torch.

If you can’t find it there, speak to an aficionado of ‘Call My Bluff’ for a back episode.

So who am I?

I am and have always been a writer, from a family of writers.

Right now I am here to shine my ‘Tinley’ at the ‘law of attraction’ – to help YOU ask the right questions to find the answer to life, the Universe and everything.

And compared to my guitar playing it’s going very well!

There is not a day that goes by, without me receiving at least one email complimenting my writing and how much my ideas and book have helped someone find some of life’s answers (for them).

I tend to scratch my head a bit and think “Wow, okay that’s cool”.

I have been using the principles of ‘law of attraction’ for over thirty years, but do I really know exactly how it works?

And if I don’t then what qualifies me to write a book about it?

Again, who am I?

I would like to answer that with a question.

My good friend Emily asked me to consider the martial arts today.

In particular I have personal experience of Tai Chi.

I am a student of Taoist Tai Chi, as is my instructor, my instructor’s instructor and so on based on traditions going back some eight hundred or more years.

And the Universe has permission from each of these people to be a channel for its wisdom.

The true wisdom of a good Tai Chi instructor comes from knowing nothing.

By definition a statement of expertise, tells you a person has nothing to learn about a subject.

When a person has nothing to learn about a subject, perhaps they have nothing to teach?

Perhaps a true teaching qualification would be a willingness to learn from each and every encounter and to pass on that wisdom as an invitation or instruction.

In my opinion, we need more facilitators, instructors and students and less experts!

So consider the following.

And please interpret this using your own concept or definition of God, the Universe or whatever suits your beliefs.

You are not on this planet because The Universe wants to teach you something.

In fact you are not on this planet to learn anything at all.

There are NO ANSWERS.

The Universe did not create all this and put YOU here to give you the answers.

The Universe actually hasn’t got a fu*king clue either!

And the one thing the Universe knows absolutely NOTHING about is the ‘law of attraction’.

We are actually here so that the Universe can figure out how it works.

Go on to consider that WE are the Universe’s super computer at work, calculating an outcome so it can come to an understanding of life’s mysteries.

So, if you are consistently getting it wrong, you are doing exactly what the Universe put you here for.

If you think you’ve failed, you’ve succeeded…

Well done, go have a beer, cigarette, hot dog, whatever you fancy. You don’t need to read any further!

However if you think you have got it all figured…

You think you are the switched on guru?

The master?

The great teacher?

The deity?

Wow…

STOP!!!

THINK AGAIN…

No, really – think again!!!

Do not go live with “I am an expert I can teach you this”.

Or “If you would only follow my method you could have success”.

Okay, you may give others the appearance of success, but you WILL ultimately fail yourself.

And the Universe is watching!

Now try modeling this theory in our world.

An example?

I am using a computer to type this.

If this computer had conscious awareness it might be thinking – this guy Mark, who is bashing wildly at my keys is trying to tell me something.

Whoa.

He just deleted that entire paragraph (read into that – created a Tsunami in Word Press).

What did the Tsunami mean?

What if it meant nothing?

In the words of the brilliant philosopher Werner Erhard “It’s all empty and meaningless (and it’s empty and meaningless that it’s empty and meaningless).”

But why?

And why is real happiness found in simply accepting what is and what isn’t?

We cannot connect with consciousness, when we are already simply part of the machinery of consciousness. How can we possibly connect to something which we already are?

So many unanswered questions.

As I said earlier, all of life boils down to one simple concept.

LOVE!

The Universe is in itself LOVE, which doesn’t mean anything, until you realise the Universe itself is trying to learn about and experience LOVE, whatever that might be.

The concept of LOVE shows up everywhere, because the Universe is using itself as a test bed for the concept of LOVE. Or should I say its own concept of itself.

If the Universe is a mad scientist, then YOU are its experiment.

All of creation is using the energy of LOVE to attract and create more LOVE. This will happen infinitely until such a time as all of creation (LOVE) understands all of creation (LOVE).

And the Universe is learning about this moment by moment, through YOU!

How does it relate to ‘law of attraction’?

Once you understand the mechanism, you can actually become a magnet for anything you want to attract into your life.

You are encouraged to feel gratitude.

Go a step further.

Understand the energy of LOVE!

Become LOVE and you become the Universe, the creator. Refute LOVE and you cannot be yourself. You become a lie.

Accept LOVE and that LOVE means different things for different people.

There ARE people on this planet who LOVE doing things you do not.

And please remember, the entire mechanism of life is completely intangible and totally unpredictable.

At any second the truth may simply stop being the truth!

Therefore anyone who claims to have all life’s answers is probably misguided and missing the point.

Don’t let anyone tell you they know exactly how something works.

If your guru is still learning then they have something to teach you!

Which is why, if you are reading my blog, the less I know about anything I write about, in a way, the better it is for you.

Because the more I try to learn and not to teach, the more I will instruct and the more we will both learn.

I am here to question ‘the law of attraction’.

LOVE IS THE ONLY ENERGY

I am Amy, Mark has asked me to contribute a “perfect” post for his “Blog Tour”.  Since Mark just shared with me recently that he bought a book that says I Love You in all the known languages, I thought a post on Love would be quite suitable to share with his readers.  I have gotten to know and greatly appreciate Mark through the microblogging service twitter. What is Love?  Actually Love is a force, an energy and it is you.  Too often we use the word Love as verb as something we do.  Truth is, when we are in touch with the truth of our being – who and what we are – the ONLY thing we do is Love. More accurately the only thing we Be is Love.

Love is the only Energy.
The only Force of True Creation.

We are created out of Absolute Love and this is where we return, to Absolute Love.  Love is not a concept or word – it is a force, an Energy.  Many of us are stuck in conditioned thinking of Love as concept – a noun or a verb.   This is not Love, but rather human created constructs which came into existence as an effort to speak about Love.  Absolute Love cannot be communicated in word, only as energetic Being (or expression) of the Love Energy.  When we, as Created Beings,  manifest – we are essentially Loving something into Being.  When we free something, we are essentially Loving it into freedom.  You’ve heard it said that Attention equals Love … consistent Attention placed is consistent Love placed.   “Energy flows where Attention goes”… is it all connecting?   A very direct route to the Love Energy vibration is the vibration of Profound Gratitude.   It can’t help but deliver you to an experience of Absolute Love.

When truly in the vibration of unconditional and absolute Love, many of the Universal Laws seem to fall away.  This is the highest vibration and places you outside any limitation – you are truly unbounded.    It is almost as if the Universal Laws exist to lovingly guide each of us into Being our true nature, which is pure Love.  The only Law that is noticeable is the Law of Love.  And with pure unconditional Love all things are possible.

I personally have noticed when I am being Unconditional and Absolute Love, time ceases, space evaporates, miraculous and magnificent things are created with absolute ease, there is no duality experienced – just pure Unity, everything “just is” and relative comparisons cease.   I also notice there is no sense of “I” present at all, but some larger Energy expressing, my true nature.   Infinite and unbounded, limitless.

It is the space of miracles.
